Artist's Comments

This is a watercolor painting of Kairi, one of the main characters of Conflict Theory. Here's the excerpt I had in mind, a flashback from four years prior.

...The song he had written was intense, fiery, and passionate. At the recital, he pushed his arms and his fingers and his mind to the limit, moving faster and more precisely than he thought he could, feeling the strings' vibrations all the way down to his toes. He didn't see the audience. He didn't even see his violin. All he saw was red, black, and violet. He saw sparks and jets and spirals.

He did not, until the end of the performance, see his father hiding behind his program, ashamed.

No one clapped when he had finished. He had bowed and headed backstage, where he was met by more silence from his instructor.

He didn't receive an explanation until he got home. His father had turned to him, with a look that made the youth flinch.

The man was not angry. He was disappointed.

"That performance was not classy," he had said. "It was cheap. It was immature. It was not fit for someone with the education and the upbringing of our family."

Those words stung him to the core. Yet as many times as he repeated his father's words, as many times as he told himself to be ashamed, he still loved the song. He itched to play it again. He yearned to feel that fire once again.

OMG. I so want to know this thing better. Beautiful, I love violin music, players and the whole thing. I so hope I could play it. agagagh stupid piano, who wants to play piano -____- violin is cool and omg the sound of it. how one can make it cry. 8)
So my point is this is beautiful pic and I ABSOLUTELY love your style ^^.
